When’s the last time over-thinking did you any good?
When’s the last time worrying got you anywhere?
Probably never.
When it comes to those things that typically consume precious mental energy, you can retain your sanity with a simple principle…
Take action and forget about it. Or let go and forget about it. Do what you need to do (if you even need to do it in the first place), and move on with your life.
Don’t let anything kill your vibe. Don’t let anything interrupt your happiness. Get your shit done and live worry-free.
For example…
If you’re overweight and you complain about it: Eat healthier, move your body, notice your progress, and stop complaining. Because just whining about your situation gets you nowhere.
If someone cuts you off in traffic: Simply let go and move on. It won’t be of any benefit to you (or anyone else) to get angry and cling to what happened. (Keyword = happened. Meaning it’s in the past and only exists in your mind.)
This applies to so many scenarios in life. And a lot of people dwell in the realm of over-thinking and worrying instead of taking action (or letting go) and then moving on.
Taking action, or letting go, and getting on with your life allows you to be present. When you take action, you’re present. When you let go, you’re present. When you move on, you move with the flow of the moment. And life becomes magical (and mo’ betta’) when you immerse yourself in the now. But when you over-analyze, over-think, or worry, you’re in the past or future (which only exist in your mind). And that hinders you’re ability to appreciate what you’re doing now.
“Where ever you are, be there totally.” -Eckhart Tolle
To visually demonstrate this concept, here’s a lil graph I made:
Note: The Y-Axis (vertical) represents the spectrum from positive to negative. The X-Axis (horizontal) represents the spectrum from active to passive. Examples are italicized.
Take action, or let go, and move on.
Stay feelin’ good, feelin’ great.
