Unsure of what your purpose in life is? Unclear as to where your true passions lie?
This all sounds like some way-too-serious, eyebrow-scrunching-stuff, right?
Well, it’s not. And the funny thing is, you already know the answers. You just might not be aware of it.
To establish this awareness, I’ll ask one simple question…
What do you think about when you’re in the shower?
If you’re like most people, you get your best ideas in the shower. New insights slap you in the face like Rick James did Charlie Murphy. The shower is pretty much a magical creativity generator, consistently bringing concepts to fruition. A misty paradise manifesting deep thought.
Don’t ignore the insights that wiggle their way into your consciousness, for they’re unearthing your very own buried treasure.
Follow your shower thoughts.
Why shower thoughts are a good indicator of passion/purpose:
Think about it, have you ever been in a bad mood in the shower? (If so, you just might be the wicked witch of the west.) It’s an environment of relaxation and creativity. Our minds are still, tranquil, and open to infinite possibility. This is perfectly conducive for breakthrough ideas and insights. And the good thing about showers being relaxing is the absence of (fear-based) anxious thoughts that usually cloud the brain. This means that you’ll be able to transcend the mental chatter and reveal what you’re really passionate about. It’s letting pure inspiration bubble to the surface.
The pure inspiration that materializes into your mind is indicative of your true self. And that’s what we’re after.
Be aware of the recurring patterns of shower thoughts. The topics that pop into your head most consistently will inherently be the things you’re most passionate about. Use the common themes to guide you along your journey. This will allow you to intuitively pursue your passions and reveal your purpose (or create your purpose).
Think about dogs all the time in the shower? Then you’re (obviously) passionate about dogs. You can get a canine companion (if you don’t already have one), dog sit other people’s dogs, start a website about dogs, become a dog breeder, become a veterinarian, become a dog groomer, work at a shelter, visit shelters, write books about dogs, design toys for dogs…etc. The possibilities are endless, and any one of those options can be someone’s purpose. (And with the interwebz, you can literally turn anything into a career if you back up passion with some hard work.)
With me, my shower thoughts consist of philosophy, health, fitness, spiritual-type stuff, life-hacking, psychology, self-improvement…etc You know, basically everything I delve into in my posts. I’m multi-passionate, and I bring it all together to create this unique mosaic I call Feelin’, Good, Feelin’ Great. What I do through this website embodies my passions, and it’s becoming my purpose in life. (I love doing what I’m doing. And thanks for reading.)
So ask yourself, “What kind of thoughts pop into my head while I’m in the shower?”
What does your pure inspiration come in the form of? Create that awareness, and run with it.
Pursue your passions. Follow your bliss. Live out your purpose.
Stay feelin’ good, feelin’ great.

PS- I thought of this whole concept in the shower. No joke 😉
